Fish pie is a great option for little ones as it contains healthy nutrient-rich foods such as fish and potatoes, but the wet sloppy texture is often difficult for little hands to pick up. . These fish pie bites are the perfect solution. They are firm enough for little hands to hold, soft enough to chew with little or no teeth, and are delicious too! . They’re also great for batch cooking and freezing - just freeze after cooking, defrost in the fridge and reheat as required. . These bites were a firm favourite with Joshua when he was little and they’re going down well with Isabelle now. . They can be made with any fish you fancy, such as salmon, cod, haddock or mackerel. Just cook it first (eg. by poaching in milk or water or by oven baking) and break it up into small pieces ensuring there are no bones or skin. . Ideally you should use plain boiled potatoes which have just been mashed. If you do have some mash which has been made with milk and butter etc you may need to add a little plain flour to the mix to stop it being too wet. .
